The Person:
Justin Swan of Dunedin, New Zealand, is a hard working, gentle individual who communicates exceptionally well with others and has a very strong ability to resolve coding problems. Justin thrives on getting the details right with his coding, ensuring that all his scripts are secure and HTML is standards compliant.
Justin also has a keen interest in search engine optimisation with considerable success in increasing the exposure of http://www.adinstruments.com to search engines.
The Goal:
To refine and expand my current web development skills into new technologies to further build and enrich web sites with enhanced usability and reach.
The Skills:
- HTML, CSS, PHP (procedural and object orientated), JavaScript, MySQL
- Ajax, jQuery, SOAP, XML, RSS, Curl, AMF-PHP, FFMPeg video conversions
- Windows – System customisation, home networking, virus cleansing, maintenance, installs, reinstalls, Virtual Machines and resolving all manner of bugs on Windows based machines
- Mac – have used Mac OS 9 and OS X whilst working at ADInstruments, minimal Apple Scripting, and a single web server setup. Some DNS work.
- Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat/CentOS) – basic to intermediate skills in most areas of Linux system administration (PHP, Apache, MySQL)
- Plesk/CPanel administration – including hosting account set up, basic experience with HSPC, also a small amount of experience with EHCP
- Worked with WordPress, Joomla/Mambo CMS’s and modified LiteCommerce to suit and integrate with the existing Australia Zoo styles and systems.

- http://shop.australiazoo.com.au – Lite Commerce system converted from tables to css, customised styling, integrated with existing membership system. Added Ajax checks for membership registration. Developed DirectOne, Crikey Cash and School Card Rewards payment integration/modules, modified newsletter module to integrate with Interspire Email Marketer.
- https://www.myaustraliazoo.com.au – developed payment processing system and integrated jQuery sortables for increased usability. Integrated newsletter registration with Interspire Email Marketer install.
